An Idaho Falls Temple wedding in full spring bloom, featuring bridal portraits, soft blossoms, and joyful celebration.

Being an Idaho Falls wedding photographer in Spring is just a different experience altogether.

The blossoms show up. The air softens. The grounds start to feel alive again. And suddenly, temple weddings take on a completely different energy.

This Idaho Falls Temple wedding was photographed by my team (lead and second photographer), and they captured the season beautifully. From the first portraits on the temple grounds to a few quiet moments at a nearby park, the entire day felt fresh, bright, and celebratory.

Spring Portraits at the Idaho Falls Temple

If you’re planning a spring wedding at the Idaho Falls Temple, here’s what you should know: timing matters.

Blossoms don’t last long. When they’re in bloom, they create the most stunning backdrop for bridal portraits. My team intentionally used the flowering trees to frame the couple without overpowering them. The result? Clean, timeless images that still feel distinctly spring.

The white exterior of the temple paired with soft pink and white blossoms creates a light, airy look that photographs beautifully. Spring light is also incredibly flattering — especially for midday temple exits.

If blossoms are important to you, flexibility with your date (even by a week or two) can make a huge difference.

Bridal Portraits at a Nearby Idaho Falls Park

After temple portraits, the couple stepped away for additional wedding portraits at a nearby Idaho Falls park. This is something I often recommend.

Why?

Because it gives you variety.

Temple grounds are classic and timeless. A park location adds texture, greenery, and movement. In the spring, fresh grass and budding trees bring dimension to your wedding gallery.

It also gives couples a chance to breathe. The ceremony is over. Family formals are done. That short window for portraits often becomes one of the most relaxed parts of the day.

Some of my favorite images from this wedding happened in those in-between moments.

A Few Family & Reception Moments

While the focus of this post is on the wedding portraits, there were a few family and reception moments worth mentioning. Temple weddings move quickly, especially outside during exits and formals. Having both a lead and second photographer allows us to document multiple angles at once — reactions, hugs, candid conversations.

You don’t just get the traditional lineup photos. You get the story surrounding them.

That’s something my team prioritizes every time.

My team understands the flow of an Idaho Falls temple wedding. They know how to organize family formals efficiently. They know how to find light on the temple grounds. And they know when to step back and let moments unfold naturally.

When you book with me, you’re booking a team that cares deeply about both experience and outcome.

Planning a Spring Idaho Falls Temple Wedding?

If you’re getting married at the Idaho Falls Temple in the spring, here are a few quick tips:

  • Watch blossom timing (it changes year to year, but expect early May).
  • Build buffer time for portraits.
  • Consider adding a nearby park for variety.
  • Hire a photographer familiar with temple exits and family coordination.

Spring temple weddings are some of the most beautiful in Idaho Falls. If you’re looking for an Idaho Falls wedding photographer who understands the grounds, the timing, and how to make portraits feel natural and organized, I would love to connect.

Let’s plan something that feels intentional and joyful.
